The All-New Ducati Hypermotard V2: A Bold Rebirth of Hyper-Performance

Ducati has once again redefined the meaning of “fun on two wheels” with the introduction of the Hypermotard V2 and its more premium sibling, the Hypermotard V2 SP. Blending the raw, playful spirit of a supermoto with cutting-edge engineering and a refined, performance-focused package, these bikes mark a major leap forward in Ducati’s hypermotard lineage.

Ducati Hypermotard V2 Engine

Engine and Performance
At the heart of both the Hypermotard V2 and V2 SP lies a 90° V-twin engine, displacing 890 cc. This compact V2 is liquid-cooled, with four valves per cylinder and a variable valve timing system, delivering an outstanding 120.4 hp (88.5 kW) at 10,750 rpm and 94 Nm of torque at 8,250 rpm.
The powertrain is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring the Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0 system for smooth, lightning-fast up and down shifts; a feature that enhances the agile, aggressive character of the bike. The clutch is a hydraulically controlled slipper self-servo setup, which gives riders more confidence under hard downshifts and helps make the V2 feel more manageable at the limit.
What’s more, Ducati caters to a broader audience: there’s a 35 kW reduced-power version for A2-licensed riders, rated at 43.5 hp and 5 kgm of torque, making the new V2 accessible without sacrificing the core Hyper experience.

Ducati Hypermotard V2 Chassis, Weight & Handling

Chassis, Weight & Handling
One of the most striking improvements in the Hypermotard V2 is its lightweight design. Ducati reports a wet weight (no fuel) of just 180 kg for the standard V2, that’s about 13 kg lighter than the preceding Hyper 950.  The SP version goes even further, shedding more weight to reach 177 kg, thanks to higher-spec parts.
This weight reduction stems from a redesigned structure: the V2 uses an aluminium monocoque frame instead of a steel trellis, which not only cuts mass but gives the bike a more compact, stiff, and responsive chassis.  The swingarm is also mounted directly to the engine for added rigidity.
Both versions offer a flat, nimble riding feel, and that reduced mass helps make the V2 extremely agile, ideal for tight urban riding, aggressive cornering, or whipping into the air for the occasional wheelie.

Ducati Hypermotard V2 Brakes & Wheels

Brakes & Wheels
Braking performance is no slouch either. The standard V2 comes with Brembo M4.32 monobloc four-piston calipers clamping twin 320 mm semi-floating discs at the front, plus a 245 mm rear disc, combined with Cornering ABS for stability and safety.
On the SP, the brake setup is even more premium, featuring Brembo M50 calipers, which provide stronger feel and more precise control, ideal for spirited riding and aggressive use.
Wheelset differences also underscore the performance gap:
• Standard V2 runs cast light-alloy 3.5″ × 17″ front and 5.5″ × 17″ rear wheels.
• V2 SP features forged aluminium wheels, saving unsprung weight and enhancing handling responsiveness.
Tyres on both are Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV series: the standard uses Diablo Rosso IV, while SP opts for the sportier Diablo Rosso IV Corsa.

Ducati Hypermotard V2 Dimensions & Ergonomics

Dimensions & Ergonomics
In keeping with its supermoto heritage, the Hypermotard V2 has an upright riding position, wide bars, and narrow bodywork. This layout gives the rider excellent leverage over the bike and contributes to its playful, manoeuvrable character. According to Ducati, the ergonomics have been “thoroughly revised” to reduce rider fatigue while boosting control.
• Seat height is 880 mm on the standard model. For those wanting a lower reach, Ducati offers a low-seat accessory (865 mm) and a low-seat + low-suspension kit (850 mm).
• The wheelbase is quoted at 1,514 mm, lending a compact footprint that aids in agility without compromising stability.
• Steering geometry is also optimised: a rake of 26° and a trail of 110 mm provide a good balance between quick turn-in and straight-line composure.

Ducati Hypermotard V2 Rider Aids

Electronics & Rider Aids

Ducati has packed the Hypermotard V2 with a modern, race-informed electronics suite.
Key systems include:

  • A 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) governing lean-sensitive rider aids.
  • Four riding modes: likely Race, Sport, Road, Wet, which adjust power delivery, traction control, engine braking, and ABS intervention.
  • Cornering ABS for more confident braking in lean.
  • Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Wheelie Control (DWC) to help manage the V2’s strong torque.
  • Engine Brake Control (EBC): lets the rider fine-tune how aggressively the engine slows the bike when off throttle.
  • The 5-inch full-colour TFT dashboard offers a clean, modern interface with 16:9 aspect ratio, it supports multiple layouts and is ready for the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS) and turn-by-turn navigation.
  • Full-LED lighting: both headlight and turn indicators are LED, with dynamic turn signals enhancing visibility and style.
  • A lithium battery helps reduce weight, especially in the SP version.
Ducati Hypermotard V2 Maintenance & Durability

Maintenance & Durability
The Hypermotard V2 is not just thrilling, it’s also sensible when it comes to maintenance. Ducati confirms a valve clearance check interval of 45,000 km, which is very competitive for a high-performance twin.  Oil changes are scheduled every two years or 15,000 km.
These longer service intervals help reduce ownership costs and downtime, making the V2 a viable choice not only for weekend thrill-seekers but also for spirited daily riders.

Ducati Hypermotard V2 Fuel Efficiency & Tank

Fuel Efficiency & Tank
According to Ducati and third-party sources, the fuel tank capacity is around 12.5 litres, which isn’t massive, but in line with its supermoto-inspired design and intended use.  Reported consumption is approximately 5.4 L/100 km, giving a practical range for city and canyon runs.

Ducati Hypermotard V2 Design & Styling

Design & Styling
Visually, the Hypermotard V2 retains the rebellious, minimalist lines that define the Hypermotard DNA. Sharp, aggressive styling cues, like the pointed “beak” front section, slim tank, and under seat exhausts, combine to create a posture that’s instantly recognisable and unapologetically Ducati. The underseat 2-into-2 exhaust system adds to the bike’s sculpted appearance, while also balancing performance and aesthetics. The SP version gets premium touches like a carbon fibre front mudguard, lighter wheels, and high-end Öhlins suspension, all of which elevate both form and function. Ducati’s choice of electronics and the modern TFT display integrate seamlessly into the design, giving the bike a high-tech, purposeful look without sacrificing its raw, unfiltered character.

Ducati Hypermotard V2 Rider Experience & Target Audience

Rider Experience
The Hypermotard V2 is clearly designed for riders who want pure, unrestrained fun without compromising on premium performance or technology:
• Enthusiasts who love quick-revving V-twins and playful, flickable bikes will feel right at home.
• Commuters: thanks to its nimble chassis, upright ergonomics, and relatively light weight, will enjoy zipping through city traffic with confidence.
• Track and canyon riders will appreciate the SP’s higher-spec suspension and aggressive capabilities.
• Experienced motorcyclists who want a premium, well-rounded machine but don’t necessarily need a litre-class superbike will find the V2’s balance very compelling.
The intuitive electronics, refined ergonomics, and engine character make it equally suited to dynamic weekend rides and daily-use adventures.

Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Blade Motor Cycles Limited to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a carefully selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. We act on behalf of the lender for this introduction and not as your agent. We are not impartial, and we are not an independent financial advisor.

Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next most suitable offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure a suitable finance agreement for you that enables you to achieve your financial objectives. If you purchase a vehicle, in the majority of cases, we will receive a commission from your lender for introducing you to them which is either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you purchase.

Different lenders pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement; however, you will be contributing towards the commission paid to us with the interest collected on your repayments. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will inform you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receive this commission. The exact amount of commission that we will receive will be confirmed prior to you signing your finance agreement.
