New Honda CB1000GT – High-Performance Sport Toure

Honda introduces a bold new chapter in its sport-touring line-up with the CB1000GT, a bike that fuses Fireblade-level performance with the refinement, comfort, and endurance required for long-distance touring. At a starting price of £11,999, this machine is designed for riders who crave both athletic prowess and premium touring convenience.

Under the fairing lies a 1,000 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC inline-four engine. It’s derived from Honda’s high-revving Fireblade lineage, but has been tuned specifically for smooth, usable power through the rev range, ideal for touring.

  • Maximum torque: 102 Nm at 8,750 rpm T
  • he engine features Throttle-By-Wire (TBW), enabling precise throttle control and integration with the electronics suite.
  • Gear changes are smooth and less fatiguing thanks to a quick shifter and a wet, assisted slipper clutch.

What makes the CB1000GT especially notable in the touring category is its electronically controlled suspension. Using Showa’s EERA (Electronically Equipped Ride Adjustment) system, the suspension adjusts damping automatically based on riding conditions — informed by a 6-axis IMU. 

  • Front suspension travel: 130 mm 
  • Rear suspension travel: 140 mm 
  • The frame uses a diamond-style steel mainframe, offering a stable but agile platform. 

This combination gives confident handling both when the bike is lightly loaded and when carrying a passenger or luggage.

Wheels are 17-inch cast aluminium, with 120/70-ZR17 front tyres and 180/55-ZR17 rear tyres.
