Top 10 Ownership & Buyer FAQs

Answers from the experts at Cheltenham Harley-Davidson to help you make an informed decision.

While Harleys are substantial machines, they are engineered with an incredibly low centre of gravity. For 2026, the Touring range has undergone weight reduction, making them surprisingly agile at low speeds. Once moving, the balance is superb, making filtering through UK traffic perfectly manageable.

Modern Harley-Davidson motorcycles require a service every 5,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first. Cheltenham Harley-Davidson offers comprehensive service plans to help you budget for genuine parts and factory-trained labour.

The standard Street Glide is a stripped-down "bagger" ideal for solo riding and weekend trips. The Street Glide Limited is fully dressed for long-distance two-up touring, coming standard with a Tour-Pak (top box), heated grips, twin cooling, and enhanced pillion accommodations.

Absolutely. The 2026 models feature advanced rider safety enhancements including Rain Mode, Cornering ABS, and Traction Control. With modern finishes and anti-corrosion treatments, they handle UK weather brilliantly, though we always recommend regular washing to protect the chrome and paintwork from road salt.

Variable Valve Timing (VVT) optimises valve timing across the RPM range. This means you get smoother low-end torque for city riding, blistering overtaking power on the motorway, and improved overall fuel economy compared to previous non-VVT generations.

Yes. Certain models in the Sport and Cruiser ranges, such as the Nightster and Softail Standard, can be restricted by Cheltenham Harley-Davidson to comply with A2 licence regulations. Once you pass your full test, the restriction can be easily removed.

Yes. The new Skyline™ OS infotainment system, featured on a massive 12.3-inch anti-glare colour TFT touchscreen, fully supports wireless Apple CarPlay. It allows seamless integration of your navigation, music, and communication apps.

Yes, it is a highly capable adventure machine. With the Revolution Max 1250 engine, semi-active suspension, and Adaptive Ride Height (which lowers the bike when you come to a stop), it handles green lanes and rugged trails with confidence while remaining exceptionally comfortable on the tarmac.

Every new 2026 Harley-Davidson purchased from Cheltenham Harley-Davidson comes with a comprehensive two-year manufacturer’s warranty covering parts and labour, plus one year of H.O.G. Membership which includes roadside assistance.

Harley-Davidson motorcycles are renowned for having some of the strongest residual values in the industry. Thanks to their timeless appeal, build quality, and high demand, a well-maintained model with a full dealer service history is an excellent long-term investment.

Blade Motor Cycles Limited an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Blade Motor Cycles Limited to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a carefully selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. We act on behalf of the lender for this introduction and not as your agent. We are not impartial, and we are not an independent financial advisor.

Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next most suitable offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure a suitable finance agreement for you that enables you to achieve your financial objectives. If you purchase a vehicle, in the majority of cases, we will receive a commission from your lender for introducing you to them which is either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you purchase.

Different lenders pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement; however, you will be contributing towards the commission paid to us with the interest collected on your repayments. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will inform you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receive this commission. The exact amount of commission that we will receive will be confirmed prior to you signing your finance agreement.

All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18s or over. Guarantees may be required.
