With 158 PS on tap, SHOWA EERA semi-active suspension that lowers the bike at a standstill, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a full Bosch radar suite covering everything from Adaptive Cruise Control to Blind Spot Assist - the 2027 Tiger 1200 sets a new benchmark for the adventure class.

A Real Step Change for the Tiger 1200

Triumph's Chief Product Officer Steve Sargent called the 2027 update "a real step change", and having reviewed the full specification, it's hard to argue. Every element of the Tiger 1200 has been looked at: the engine, the chassis, the electronics, the ergonomics, and the rider interface.

The result is four distinct bikes, two GT models and two Rally models, each positioned to suit a different kind of rider. Whether you're covering long miles on UK A-roads, threading through Alpine passes, or heading for proper green lanes, there's a Tiger 1200 configured for the job. Bikes are available to order now and will reach our Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon showrooms from December 2026.

The GT Family

GT models use cast aluminium wheels and are tuned for maximum road performance. The GT Pro carries a 20-litre fuel tank and is priced from £18,295. The GT Explorer steps up with a 30-litre tank, tyre pressure monitoring, taller and wider handlebars, and lower engine bars - from £19,875.

The Rally Family

Rally models add tubeless spoked wheels, Off-road Pro riding mode, engine protection, and an adjustable folding brake pedal. The Rally Pro starts from £18,995, while the Rally Explorer - with the 30-litre tank, upper engine bars, and the full accessory foundation - starts from £20,575.

158 PS. More Low-Down Punch.

The 1160cc liquid-cooled T-plane triple carries over its distinctive firing order - the one that gives the Tiger its characteristic sound and feel - but the engineers have been through the cylinder head, pistons, valves, and fuel injection mapping to extract an additional 8 PS. Peak power is now 158 PS (116.2 kW) at 9,250 rpm, with 130 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm.

More importantly, Triumph has focused significant effort on low-rev behaviour. Revised gear ratios in first through third, along with updated primary and final drive ratios, deliver noticeably better manners at low speeds - crawl speed has been reduced by 6 km/h, which matters on technical terrain and in heavy traffic alike.

Drive goes through a six-speed gearbox with Triumph Shift Assist for clutchless up and down changes, a wet multi-plate slip-and-assist clutch, and shaft final drive - maintenance-free and perfectly suited to long-distance touring.

Suspension That Works With You

Across all four models, the 2027 Tiger 1200 rides on fully redesigned SHOWA EERA Heightflex semi-active suspension - 49mm upside-down forks up front with 200mm of travel, matched by a semi-active monoshock at the rear with the same 200mm. Three damping modes - Firm, Medium, and Soft, are selectable to suit the road, the load, and your riding style.

The headline feature is automatic ride height. When you roll to a stop, the EERA system lowers the seat by 30mm - making it dramatically easier to get both feet down. Pull away and the ride height restores automatically. Pair that with the optional low seat (which cuts a further 20mm) and the minimum seat height at a standstill drops to just 790mm, a genuine consideration for shorter riders who've previously struggled with adventure bikes of this size.

Triumph has also added Centre Stand Assist, which temporarily increases rear preload to make deploying the centre stand significantly easier, a thoughtful touch for a bike you'll be loading up for long trips.

The two-position seat offers an additional 20mm of height adjustment, and the new foam is 10mm thicker than the previous generation. Both heated seat and three-stage heated grips are standard across the range.

Connected, Safe, and Aware

The 2027 Tiger 1200 sits at the forefront of motorcycle connectivity. At the centre of the cockpit is a 7-inch Bosch HD TFT touchscreen, rated IP6K9K for genuine all-weather reliability - with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto built in. No cables, no dongles. Just connect your phone and your maps, music, and messages are right there.

Below the screen, Triumph has fitted a waterproof phone compartment with a USB-C charging port (up to 3A/15W) and a cooling fan to stop your handset overheating on long summer days. It's a small thing, but it shows how carefully the engineering team has thought through real-world touring use.

Both front and rear Bosch radar units feed a full Advanced Rider Assistance System:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control - maintains your set speed and gap to the vehicle ahead
  • Forward Collision Warning - alerts you to closing gaps ahead
  • Emergency Brake Assist - maximises braking if you're slow to react
  • Blind Spot Assist - warns of vehicles in adjacent lanes
  • Rear Distance Warning - monitors closing traffic from behind
  • Group Ride Assist and Riding Distance Assist - designed for convoy riding

Rounding out the lighting package is an adaptive LED projector headlight with cornering lights and a self-levelling beam - the road ahead is always lit correctly, regardless of lean angle.

Riding modes number 7 on Pro models (Road, Sport, Rain, Eco, Off-road, and two Rider-configurable modes), with Rally models adding an eighth: Off-road Pro.

Choosing Your Tiger 1200

All 2027 Tiger 1200 models share the same 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, with the GT family running cast aluminium hoops and the Rally family on tubeless spoked rims. Tyres are 120/70R19 front and 170/60R17 rear.

It's worth noting that the previous-generation Rally Pro and Rally Explorer ran a larger 21-inch front wheel with 220mm of suspension travel - a setup traditionally preferred for serious off-road use. The 2027 Rally models standardise to the 19-inch front with 200mm of travel. Triumph says this change - driven by customer feedback - delivers better road agility and a more balanced character. If the majority of your riding is on-road with occasional off-road excursions, it makes sense. Riders who regularly tackle rough terrain should weigh this up before deciding.

Pro vs Explorer

The Pro variants carry a 20-litre fuel tank - plenty for most UK touring. Step up to Explorer and you gain a 30-litre tank for serious long-distance range, tyre pressure monitoring, handlebars that are 10mm taller and 10mm wider, and lower engine bars on the GT Explorer. The Rally Explorer further adds upper engine bars.

Blade Motor Cycles Limited an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Blade Motor Cycles Limited to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a carefully selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. We act on behalf of the lender for this introduction and not as your agent. We are not impartial, and we are not an independent financial advisor.

Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next most suitable offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure a suitable finance agreement for you that enables you to achieve your financial objectives. If you purchase a vehicle, in the majority of cases, we will receive a commission from your lender for introducing you to them which is either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you purchase.

Different lenders pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement; however, you will be contributing towards the commission paid to us with the interest collected on your repayments. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will inform you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receive this commission. The exact amount of commission that we will receive will be confirmed prior to you signing your finance agreement.

All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18s or over. Guarantees may be required.
